GLOBAL LEADERS IN SHAFT STRAIGHTENING

Class-Approved Cold Straightening

Restoring Shafts with Class Approved Hydraulic Press Technology

SHAFT STRAIGHTENING SPECIALIST

We can Cold Straighten Shafts from
20mm up to 1,500mm in Diameter
with no Limitation on Length

Even the most severe bendings can be straightened.

When others might consider replacement, we offer a cost-effective and fully class-approved alternative. Regardless of where propeller or rudder damage occurs globally, choosing cold straightening over replacement often reduces costs and lead times while extending the service life of the shaft.

We perform cold straightening without applying heat by utilizing our purpose-built hydraulic presses, capable of exerting up to 6,000 tonnes of force. Our technique preserves the original metallurgy, making it a trusted permanent class-approved repair solution.

Each straightening project is carefully planned to guarantee lasting results, achieving precision alignment with a maximum deviation of just 0.05 mm.

NDT Accurate Crack Detection

All shafts are inspected using non-destructive testing before and after cold straightening to ensure there are no cracks

Non-destructive testing (NDT) is a fundamental process in the MarineShaft workshop, ensuring the integrity and quality of components before, during, and after repairs. NDT is essential for detecting cracks and defects in parts that have sustained damage, serving as a vital tool for verifying the reliability of materials.

Fully class approved

Our cold straightening method, first approved by Bureau Veritas in 1972, has since gained recognition from all leading classification societies as a permanent repair solution without conditions

After every straightening job, a surveyor from the relevant classification society reviews and approves the job. The process is fully documented, and a class certificate is issued to ensure compliance and quality.

“The job done by the MARINESHAFT team is amazing. I was really impressed by your knowledge, technicity, and trust to restore the shaft. Lot of skeptic’s persons told me; you are wrong by attempting to repair instead of manufacturing a new one. I am now happy to prove them different. ”
