We can scan and analyze the blades, their pitch, and other key geometries, saving time and avoiding costly dismantling. The detailed digital model of each blade captures essential features such as pitch, curvature, and profile, enabling accurate comparisons, damage assessment, and wear analysis. If a new blade is required, the captured geometry ensures precise replication.

By scanning the propeller shaft cone, we can measure its dimensions with high accuracy, allowing us to manufacture cones that are nearly a perfect fit. Swift Propeller Repair on National Geographic Endurance

We were brought in to diagnose and resolve an issue with noise and vibration from the propellers on the National Geographic Endurance, starting with a 3D scan of both the entire port and starboard propellers, including all five blades, the hub, and the hub cover—without needing to dismantle them.

To conduct the 3D scans we placed around one thousand reference markers across each propeller. Detailed evaluation of blade cross sections from the 3D scan data showed critical deviations, and corrective actions were defined. Next, we traveled to the shipyard and completed the on-site modifications and propeller repairs in just two days.
